Howard Sklar
Chief Executive Officer Howard Sklar became active in his family’s oil business, Sklar & Phillips Oil Co., in 1992. At that time, Mr. Sklar began applying his expertise in physics initially toward applications of AVO and later toward use of NUMAR logging in non-conventional pay zone analysis. His early efforts in East Texas led to the addition of reserves and new pay zones at Oletha, N. Oletha, and Personville Fields in the Travis Peak and Cotton Valley sandstones. These three fields have an estimated 180 BCF in recoverable reserves. Mr. Sklar formed Sklar to lead the continued growth of his immediate family’s oil and gas and other assets. Mr. Sklar has earned both an B.S. and M.S. in physics and engineering from the University of Michigan, and an M.S. in geophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (“MIT”). He has taught numerous courses in physics at MIT and Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, and in mathematics and physics at Louisiana State University at Shreveport and Centenary College of Louisiana. Mr. Sklar is a Past Chairman and current Director on the Board of Directors of ArcMail Technologies, an emailing archiving company. Mr. Sklar is currently working on a Ph.D. in physics at University of Colorado in Boulder.

David Barlow

President — Chief Operating OfficerMr. Barlow has a B.A. degree from Centenary College in Shreveport, LA and a J.D. (Cum Laude) from Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, LA. After obtaining his undergraduate degree, he served as a research assistant for Prof. Michael Hurst, the Senior Fellow of St. Johns College, Oxford University in Oxford, England. During law school, he worked as a student law clerk for Judge Steven Plotkin, 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, New Orleans, Louisiana. Before joining Sklar in 2001, he practiced law at the law firms of Barlow and Hardtner L.C. and its successor, Lemle & Kelleher, L.L.P., where he specialized in oil and gas law, generally representing oil and gas independent producers in oil and gas transactions, environmental, tort and breach of contract litigation, regulatory matters and title work. He is a licensed attorney in the State of Louisiana and is a member of the IPAA, LOGA, the Ark-La-Tex Petroleum Landman’s Association and the Oil & Gas Section of the Louisiana State Bar. Mr. Barlow also serves on several boards of unaffiliated charitable/non-profit and for profit organizations, including the following: Charter Member of the Advisory Board of Bowman Systems LLC, a software company specializing in the human services industry; Charter Member of the Board of Directors of The Leonard Family Corporation, a family holding company with subsidiaries in the meat packing, food processing and solid waste treatment industries; Past Director and Past President of the McDade House, a local hospitality house; Past President of the Pastoral Council for St. John Berchmans Cathedral in Shreveport; Director and Vice President, The Sisters Of The Destitute; Director and Past President, Jeems Bayou Fishing & Hunting Club, Inc.; and Director, The Shreveport Club. He is a graduate of IPAA’s Executive Management Program for Oil & Gas Executives at Harvard Business School and has been a presenter at the 2007 Ark-La-Tex Association of Professional Landmen Educational Seminar and at the 54th Mineral Law Institute at LSU Law Center.

Cory Ezelle

Mr. Ezelle has more than 20 years of exploration and production experience focusing primarily in the Ark-La-Tex and MAFLA regions. He was directly responsible for 15 field discoveries during that time with estimated total reserves of over 120 BCF and 20 MMBO. Mr. Ezelle joined Sklar & Phillips Oil Company in 1996, and Sklar at its inception in 1998. Prior to working with the Sklar family, Mr. Ezelle worked as an explorationist with other oil and gas firms, including Marlin Exploration, Robey H. Clark (consulting for Diamond Shamrock Corporation), Spirit Petroleum, Tideway Exploration, Texas Oil and Gas Corporation, and American Natural Resources. He earned a B.S. in geology from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, and completed two years of graduate work at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, LA. He is an AAPG certified petroleum geologist, a licensed professional geoscientist in the State of Texas and a past board member and secretary of the Shreveport Geological Society.

V.P. — Chief Financial OfficerMr. Farrell is a graduate of Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, LA with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration. Mr. Farrell is also a certified public accountant and earned an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. He is a member of the Council of Petroleum Accountant Societies (COPAS). In addition to his responsibilities with Sklarco, LLC and Sklar Exploration Company, LLC, Mr. Farrell also manages the non-oil and gas investments of Mr. Sklar. He has worked for the Sklar family since 2001.

Greg Rembert

Greg Rembert
Land ManagerMr. Rembert attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA and Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport. He earned a B.S. in geology from Centenary in 1976. Upon graduation, Greg worked independently as a geologist and landman prior to joining Amoco Production Company (New Orleans, Louisiana region) as Staff Landman. After leaving Amoco, he worked for The Hunter Company Inc., as Staff Landman; Projects, Inc., as President and Exploration Manager; and Polaris Pipeline Corporation as Operations Manager. Most recently, Mr. Rembert worked for Tensas Delta Exploration Company, LLC as a contract landman prior to joining Sklar as Senior Landman. He is a member of American Association of Professional Landmen (CPL), Ark-La-Tex Association of Professional Landmen and The Shreveport Geological Society.

V.P. — Operations ManagerMr. West earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from Texas A & M University in College Station, TX, graduating magna cum laude. With more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Mr. West spent the early part of his career working for Mobil Oil Corp. and Texas Oil & Gas Corp. Mr. West worked for Brammer Engineering, Inc. from 1986-2006 and was Vice President of Operations there for from 2003-06. He was then District Manager for the Shreveport District Office of New Tech Engineering, Inc. from 2006-2009. Since joining Sklar in 2009, Mr. West has managed Sklar’s oil and gas operations.

Geoscientist TechnicianMs. Anderson has 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, having previously worked at the Shreveport Petroleum Log Library. She joined Sklar in 1999 as a geoscientist technician for Cory Ezelle and currently assists the exploration department. She was promoted to Regulatory Analyst in 2001 and has since received regulatory certifications with the Railroad Commission of Texas and the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources. She served on the Board of Directors for the Red River Desk & Derrick Club in 2008 and has been an active member of the club since 2007.

Don Eustes

Don Eustes
Geophysicist Mr. Eustes has over 25 years of experience as a geophysicist with various oil and gas companies focusing in the southern U.S. with some offshore experience. He has played a key role in the development of numerous fields based on bright spots and AVO anomalies, along with conventional 2D seismic interpretation. He has used 3D data to prove up 2D prospect 'leads' and develop efficient exploitation plans. He joined Sklar & Phillips Oil Company in 1997, and Sklar in 1998. Prior to working with the Sklar family, Mr. Eustes worked for nine years as an independent geophysical consultant. During this time, he worked continually with Cory Ezelle and contributed to many of the field discoveries mentioned above. From 1980 - 1988, he worked with Cities Service and Placid Oil Company. He is a licensed geophysicist in the State of Texas and an active member of the AAPG and the SEG. He has served in many leadership capacities with the Cross Bayou Emmaus community and is currently an elder at Open Door Bible Church.

Geologist Mr. Faulkinberry joined the Sklar team upon graduation from Centenary College in 2010. Todd began his career as a geologist technician and was promoted to Geologist in 2011. He is a member of the Shreveport Geological Society.

From there, he continued his studies at The University of New Orleans in Louisiana and in 2002 received an M.S. degree in geology. He began working full-time as a geologist for Sklar in 2002.

During his tenure at the University of Mississippi, he taught a wide range of undergraduate geology courses. His research focused on modern carbonates in Exuma, Bahamas where he presented his work at the annual 2010 Geological Society of American conference. In addition, he is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Geological Society of America and Shreveport Geological Society.

Landman Mr. Jones joined Sklar in 2005 after working for The Mitchell Company as a petroleum landman. He performs a number of land-related functions, including title abstracting work, title examination and lease take-offs, lease negotiation and acquisition, and lease curative work. He is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen.

While employed with Sklar as a lease analyst, she was an active member of the Louisiana Real Estate Commission and the Northwest Louisiana Association of Realtors. She was promoted to the position of Landman in 2005 and currently performs a number of land-related functions, principally in the office. She is a member of the Ark-La-Tex Petroleum Landman’s Association.
